“The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown, narrated by Jeff Harding

What could be more exciting than a novel that tests your own beliefs and looks to provide historical evidence to support those challenges. For me The Da Vinci Code did just that. I studied the History of Art in College, knowing all the works of Leonardo Da Vinci and sculptures of Bernini mentioned in this novel just added a level of intrigue.

You know how people say, the book is better than the movie, we in this case I would have to agree. The book offers so much more by way of detail and evidence making the experience so much more rewarding. I happened to be lucky enough to visit the Louvre in Paris the year after the Da Vinci Code movie was released, the Louvre had the Da Vinci Code trail touching on topics within the novel, it was awesome.

My mother a sister visited us from South Africa a few years later, on that trip we toured around Scotland, on our way home from a day out at Stirling Castle we popped into the now famous Rosslyn Chapel for a visit, much like the Louvre this tour was outstanding. It’s not often that a book has such a profound impact on the lives of so many, but this book does.

“The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown is a gripping thriller that follows the adventures of symbologist Robert Langdon and cryptologist Sophie Neveu as they unravel a centuries-old mystery that could shake the foundations of Christianity. Set against the backdrop of Paris and London, the novel explores themes of religion, history, and conspiracy as Langdon and Neveu race against time to uncover the truth.

Thrust into a dangerous game of cat and mouse with a shadowy organization known as the Priory of Sion this duo uncover clues left by Leonardo da Vinci himself, they must decipher cryptic codes and solve ancient riddles to unravel the mystery of the Holy Grail.

Right off the bat, listeners are taken on a thrilling journey through the hidden chambers of the Louvre Museum, the ancient catacombs of Rosslyn Chapel, and the hallowed halls of Westminster Abbey as Langdon and Neveu follow a trail of clues that leads them ever closer to the truth. Along the way, they encounter secret societies, mysterious symbols, and shocking revelations that threaten to upend everything they thought they knew about history and religion.

This includes the listener.
